Dr. Rob GentPh.D., LPCThe science of connection. The experience of healing.

TREATMENT FRAMEWORK Relational Emotional Physical IntegrationConnection

The brain develops in connection with other people.

Dr. Gent has focused his work on neurobiological development and the science of relationships, and how early and ongoing relational experiences shape the way we feel, think, attach and cope.

Over 20 years he has worked as a therapist, clinical developer, researcher, program developer and clinical business developer. Today he concentrates that experience on assessment and therapy delivered through intensive, deeply rewarding experiences.

For families, that work includes parent coaching: helping parents understand development, regulate themselves and their children, and become the steady, connected presence a child's growing brain needs.

Relational

How we connect, compensate, attach, regulate, and repair with those people who impact us most.

Emotional

How the formation and experience of emotions drive physical and behavioral responses.

Physical

How stress, safety, and physiological functioning influence our thinking, feeling, behaviors, and relationships.

Ways to work together

Every path begins with understanding. From there, we choose the format that fits your needs, your relationships and your schedule.

Signature offering

Therapeutic intensives

Three to five days of in-person therapy, concentrated into one focused stretch of time. Intensives create room for deeper sustainable change than weekly sessions allow. Intensives are strategically hosted on the Big Island of Hawaii and provide an optimized immersive therapeutic experience to create and sustain healing and transformation.

Clinical assessment

A thorough look at your history, relationships and current patterns, so treatment starts with a clear picture and a plan.

Individual therapy

One-on-one work on emotional, relational and physical health, at a pace that supports lasting change.

Couples therapy

Understand the patterns between you, rebuild trust and learn to repair after conflict. Increase rewarding connection, vulnerability, and intimacy.

Family therapy

Help every member of the family be understood, and strengthen the relationships that support development.

Includes parent coaching

Parent coaching is a central part of family work. Parents learn how their child's brain and emotions develop, how to stay regulated under stress, and how to repair after conflict, so change continues at home between sessions.
